Community Organizations & Charities
The Cascade Relays Foundation supports local non-profits, school groups, and community organizations in the communities our events travel through. Cascade Relays has directly donated a total of $235,000 to local nonprofits and community groups since its founding in 2008.

Our most popular fundraising opportunity is the “Hire a Volunteer” program. Your non-profit organization finds supporters to volunteer at the race on behalf of your charity/community group. Without our amazing volunteers and their time, spirit, and enthusiasm this incredible community event could not take place. In order to commemorate your volunteer hours that contribute to the success of the event, each volunteer will receive a Cascade Relays visor and if affiliated with an officially accepted grant group, will generate funds for your respective charity.
Volunteering at Cascade Relays provides a fun and easy opportunity to raise significant funds for your organization! Register to apply to become an official charity/community group by clicking on the link above and let us know how many volunteers you anticipate being able to provide on race day. There are no guarantees that all volunteers from your organization will be needed. Volunteer assignments will be finalized the month prior to the race.
There are many other opportunities for your organization to fundraise during the race. Please indicate your fundraising ideas in the Official Charity Application and we will contact you to discuss opportunities and how we can support your organization.
In 2016, the “Hire a Volunteer Program” and other fundraising opportunities supported these non-profits and community groups:
- Boys & Girls Clubs of Bend
- Grace Bible Church of Bend
- La Pine Ya Ya Sisterhood Society
- La Pine Veterans Association
- Pleasant Ridge Community Hall Assoc.
- REALMS Charter School
If you are volunteering on behalf of an Official Charity, please visit the Volunteer page for critical instructions and directions. The volunteer coordinator for your charity will let you know where you have been assigned and what time your assignment starts.
